1. I'm pretty sure I'm right on this but if a unit has upkeep with two different costs separated by a comma, (i.e. Boba Fett (D): Pay one build point, discard one card from your hand OR tap this unit) I can either pay one build point, discard a card, or tap him right? I don't have to pay both (a build point and get rid of a card)
Yes, you are right. If you need more proof I have an answer from WOTC when I asked them, that exact same question.

I'd like to see that answer as the way it is written certainly could mean either you can choose any one of the three or you must pay build and discard OR tap.

Upkeep: Some Units like 4-LOM(A) or Bobba Fett (D) have this: "Upkeep: Pay 1 build point, discard 1 card from your hand, or tap this unit." My question is: do I have to Pay 1 build point and discard1 card from my hand or tap the unit to pay the upkeep, or can I choose one of the three options: Pay 1 build point or discard 1 card from my hand or tap the unit to pay the upkeep?

Either of those upkeeps count, paying one build or discarding a card or tapping it, you do not have to do both.
